Watch: Ariana Grande Releases “7 Rings”
Friday is here or should we say FriYAY because Ariana Grande just made it a whole lot more fun day with the release of her anticipated “7 Rings”.
As we reported earlier, the “Thank U, Next” hitmaker was meant to drop her latest single, “7 Rings” today, January 18 and we can assure you that she not only outdid herself, she also nailed it.
The pop star not only released the new song but it also came along with a music video and it’s the fiercest ode to friendship and being a boss lady!
Unlike Grande’s trademark R&B vocals, the 25-year-old singer goes for a trap vibe and even raps. In the track, she also delivers verses about being an independent woman and having the wallet to support that glam lifestyle.
According to Grande, the song is about the time she got drunk at Tiffany’s and bought herself, and her six besties, matching engagement rings.
“You know how when you’re waiting at Tiffany’s they give you lots of champagne?” she asked Billboard. “They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring.”
“7 Rings” is her first followup hit single, “Thank U, Next”. Enjoy the video for “7 Rings” below:
