The date for this year’s edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) has been announced.

The AMVCA 2023 will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, from May 18–20, 2023, according to the organization behind the awards that honour African movie talent.

Dr Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria AMVCA made the announcement.

She said the event would last three days, moving from a cultural night to the runaway show and nominee gala. On May 20, 2023, the main prizes will be presented.

The nominations announcement is scheduled for April 9, according to the organizers.

Stan Nze and Osas Ighodaro won Best Actor and Actress in a Drama at the most recent ceremony hosted at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos last year.

Other performers that received AMVCA honours at the previous ceremony included Samuel Perry, nicknamed Broda Shaggi, who won for the male version of the same category, and Funke Akindele, who took home the prize for Best Actress in a Comedy.

Izu Ojukwu and Okey Ogunjiofor’s historical drama Amina won the prize for the best overall film.
