‘Euphoria’ Season 2: What To Expect
Euphoria returns with stars Zendaya and Hunter Schaffer as they prepare to tell ‘Euphoria‘ fans another inspiring story in season 2.
The Sam Levinson show will debut its second season on January 9 at 9 PM ET.
The series will air weekly on HBO and its online streaming platform HBO Max.
Euphoria season 2’s cast includes Primetime Emmy award winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Zendaya, Hunter Schaffer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid, and Austin Abrams.
In the synopsis of season 2, HBO describes the show as one where “the 17-year-old Rue -interpreted by Zendaya- must find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction.”
Speaking to Teen Vogue, Zendaya revealed that the show’s intensity increased in the new season.
“I think this season is not going to be easy, though, Zendaya said.
“It’s not going to be a fun watch; I don’t think, sometimes.”
She noted that she believes that a vast majority of people empathize with Rue-her character-.
“I think Rue really reserves all of that care when it comes to her character because I think she represents a lot for so many people,” she said.
“And I hope to make those people proud with our depictions of Rue, where all the characters go.”
Euphoria had suspended its second season earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic pushing filming back from the initial March 2020 schedule. However, Euphoria’s creator Sam Levinson has reportedly designed the new season to show a most intense perspective of the characters played by Zendaya and Hunter Schaffer.
Euphoria season one won two Emmy Outstanding Original Music awards and Lyrics and Outstanding Contemporary Makeup at the 2020 Emmy awards.
