The weekend is almost upon us and we have an amazing lineup of events coming up that we feel should be on your radar. They are;

1. Big Band Friday

This is the perfect event to kick off your weekend as it will afford lovers of quality music the opportunity to enjoy sounds straight from the professional instrumentalists. Guests will be serenaded with a live performance by Bita Kola and Showboy.

2. Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange

WSICE clocks 10 this weekend, having staged its maiden edition in July 2010 to mark the 76th birthday anniversary of Akinwande Oluwole Babatunde Akinwande Soyinka, who is also 85 on July 13, 2019. The WSICE, a prime project of the OpenDoor Series, is essentially anchored around Soyinka’s humanist principles as enunciated in his body of works and his consistent patriotic engagement with the socio-political and cultural affairs of Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.

3. Rafiki Premiere

This is a special Nigerian premiere of Rafiki; A Kenyan drama directed by Wanuri Kahiu. ‘Rafiki’ which translates to English as ‘friend’ is the story of friendship and tender love that grows between two young women, Kena and Ziki, amidst family and political pressures around LGBTQ rights in Kenya.

4. Sunday Brunch with Sage

Join the Sage Network for brunch this Sunday. It’s an all you can eat buffet along with games, trivia and conversations. they also have fun ridiculous prizes to be won. This a paid event exclusive to professionals in Lagos, but application is free.
