Nollywood actor and action star, Sylvester Madu, has denied claims that he sells okrika (second-hand clothes), two years after he was seen in a viral video displaying clothes on the floor in a market.
The 50-year-old actor, also known by fans as Shina Rambo, made this clarification during a recent interview with media personality Patience Yisa, which surfaced online on Monday, April 7, 2025.
According to Madu, what many people saw in the 2023 video was misunderstood.
He explained that the clothes he was seen selling were brand-new imports from the United States, not used clothes.
“First of all, I don’t sell okrika. Those clothes I was filmed selling are not necessarily okrika because they were on the floor. I don’t sell okrika. I import from the U.S.,” he said.
Madu, who gained fame in the early 2000s for his roles in crime and action films, also revealed that he owns several shops and has been running his clothing business for more than 30 years.
“I have multiple shops and I have boys who sell for me. I don’t do big man, I go to the field to sell by myself. I have a lot of people selling for me. I monitor my business,” he added.
