This will be the last time you will be seeing The Big Bang Theory series on your television screens.

According to Entertainment News, Jim Parsons is leaving the franchise. This news is coming after several reports had stated they him, alongside Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg to receive were in negotiations to receive more than $50 million in profit for starring in two more seasons.

A joint statement, Warner Bros. Television, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions, read

“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ during the past 12 seasons. We, along with the cast, writers, and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and the series finale, that will bring ‘The Big Bang Theory’ to an epic creative close.”

The forthcoming season (Season 12) will be its last and will have 24 episodes.

On a positive note, The Big Bang Theory will go down in history as the longest running multi-camera shows on television with 279 episodes.

And if you do not know what that means, this is going out with a bang.
