The end of the year is nigh and another December is upon us again. Catch up on the weekly trendy stories on Guardian Life.

Who’s the Spotify king?
Grammy award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has emerged as Spotify’s 2022 most-streamed artiste. It was revealed by the streaming service in its 2022 edition of Wrapped. In 2022, Nigerians listened to nearly three times as much local music, as they did in 2021 with a 291 per cent YOY increase in local music consumption. Nigerians bring the speakers out on Fridays, which is when they listen to the most music. Wondering what time of the day Nigerians listen the most? It’s at 11:00 a.m, right after morning commuting and to-do lists are taken care of. Wrapped in Spotify’s yearly round-up of the top artists and music of the year as streamed by users around the world. And this year’s data paints a picture of how Nigerian music captured hearts, both at home and around the world.

‘Hurt People Hurt People’
During the promotion of his film “Emancipation”, Will Smith described the “night of slap” as “horrific”. He said of the incident, “and it’s like I understood the idea where they say hurt people hurt people. That was a rage that had been bottled for a really long time.
“And I guess what I would say, you just never know what somebody is going through. I was going through something that night. Not that that justifies my behaviour at all.” Smith noted that he was not who he wanted to be at that moment of the incident. Smith addressed the slap and apologised to the public on social media in July. Smith has received a penalty from the Academy in the form of a 10-year attendance ban from the Oscars.

Could Keke Palmer be A Nun?
Keke Palmer in a recent interview is thrilled to be among the cast of “Sister Act 3”. Whoopi Goldberg is prepared to grace the screen with Palmer as she had mentioned last Whoopi month that she would love to have talents like Palmer, Lizzo, and Nicki Minaj co-star in “Sister Act 3”, which is currently in production at Disney+. And Keke is overjoyed with the Oscar winner’s casting preferences. The actress had always wanted to host a late-night comedy show, especially after watching fellow Nickelodeon alum Kenan Thompson do it.

Rekindled Love
Jennifer Lopez has revealed the inscription on the green diamond ring that Ben Affleck gave her, which reads ‘Not. Going. Anywhere.’ The A-list couple wedded on August 20 at Ben Affleck’s mansion outside of Savannah, Georgia, after exchanging vows on July 16 in Las Vegas, which was more than three months ago.
Lopez claimed that, compared to their earlier relationship in the early 2000s, her relationship with Affleck is far more apparent. Lopez remarked, “Now, we know and there are no questions. It’s me and you, all the way, ’till the end’.”
According to Lopez, the breakup was, “the biggest heartbreak of my life and I honestly thought I was gonna die.” She said that the breakup launched her on a downward spiral. However, it does have a happy ending now, 20 years later.
