Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has denied the sexual offence allegations against him in the United Kingdom.

The dancer maintained that he did not commit the alleged offences and said his confidence during the legal process came from knowing he was innocent.

Poco Lee made the remarks during a video conversation with social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. The video was shared on VeryDarkMan’s Instagram page on Sunday.

Speaking about his experience, Poco Lee said he was more concerned about the effect of the situation on his friends and business associates.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone.

“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he said.

VeryDarkMan also expressed support for the dancer and raised questions about reports surrounding his legal situation in the UK.

He praised Nigerian singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago for standing by Poco Lee during the period.
The video emerged amid conflicting online claims about the status of the criminal case.

Some reports suggested that Poco Lee had been released from custody. Others claimed that the complainant had withdrawn the allegations or that the parties had reached an out-of-court settlement.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that the case remained active.

Responding to an inquiry, the CPS Press Office said Odinaka was still scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The CPS said, “This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026.”
A Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing is a pre-trial proceeding during which the court considers the defendant’s plea and preparations for trial.

The CPS did not confirm whether Odinaka remained in custody or had been granted bail.

Odinaka faces five sexual offence charges in the UK. They include attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

The case followed the entertainer’s visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert held at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.

Snaresbrook Crown Court had previously confirmed that the matter was listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.

The court also imposed a reporting restriction to protect the complainant’s identity under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
