Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy is set to feature alongside Colombian pop star Shakira on the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup titled “Dai Dai.”
The announcement was made from the iconic Maracanã Stadium ahead of the song’s scheduled release on May 14.
The teaser, shared via officialbFIFA World Cup channels, hinted at an energetic global anthem for the tournament, with Burna Boy and Shakira expected to deliver a blend of Afrobeats and Latin pop influences.
“From Maracanã Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!” the announcement read.
The collaboration has already generated excitement globally, especially as Shakira previously delivered iconic FIFA World Cup songs including Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) and La La La (Brazil 2014).
The development further strengthens Burna Boy’s growing international influence, as the Afrobeats star continues to secure major global collaborations and performances on some of the world’s biggest stages.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico.
