Fast-rising Nigerian Afrobeats star Muyeez, the teenage protégé of chart-topping singer Seyi Vibez, has released a vibrant new single titled “17,” offering a confident snapshot of youth, growth, and cultural pride.
Released under NSNV Inc in partnership with global music powerhouse EMPIRE, the track blends infectious Afrobeats rhythms with rich Yoruba inflections, further cementing Muyeez’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most exciting young talents.
Produced by Larry Lanes (Enta), “17” is reflective yet energetic, exploring themes of self-belief, ambition, and responsibility through the lens of a 17-year-old navigating fame and creative discipline. The song draws directly from Muyeez’s lived experiences, making it especially resonant with today’s youth-driven audience.
Muyeez broke into the mainstream with his 2024 hit “Instagram” featuring Seyi Vibez, which soared to No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria within 24 hours, making him one of the youngest Nigerian artists to achieve the feat. The success firmly established him as a standout voice in the competitive Afrobeats scene.
In 2025, the Lagos-based artist followed up with “Mortal Kombat” (featuring Seyi Vibez) under the NSNV Inc–EMPIRE partnership and also earned a feature on Olamide’s self-titled album, racking up millions of streams across Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, and Boomplay.
At just 17, Muyeez has shown a rare ability to tell culturally rooted stories through music. “17” serves as the lead single from his highly anticipated debut album, Seventeen, scheduled for release in summer 2026, a project expected to showcase his versatility and artistic vision.
“This song represents where I am right now — young, ambitious, and deeply connected to my roots,” Muyeez said. “Being 17 is a special moment, and I wanted to capture that energy while staying true to the street culture and Nigerian music that shaped me.”
With over 100 million streams and more than two million monthly listeners across platforms, Muyeez continues to build a fast-growing global fanbase. Under the mentorship of Seyi Vibez, the teenage star is carving a distinct path in an industry crowded with emerging acts.
