Andrea Lee Kelly, the ex-wife of embattled musician, R. Kelly has revealed that the singer is free to get in touch with their children over the phone.

Andrea who was one of those who claimed to be a victim in the controversial “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries by Lifetime that exposed allegations of predatory behaviour and sexual misbehaviour allegedly committed by the Grammy award-winning singer.

A rep for Andrea told celebrity gossip site, TMZ that she is not against Kelly attempting to contact their three children, Jay, Joann and Robert Jr., most of whom are adults now. It is also claimed that they as a family haven’t heard from the “I Believe I Can Fly” crooner in months.

It is also learnt that Andrea acknowledges that the children are all grown now and fully understand the accusations being levelled against their father. According to her rep, Andrea has to see if the children are interested in rekindling a relationship with their father first.

Interestingly, there is a video of Andrea circulating online in which she is seen joyously playing her ex-husband’s song, “Happy People,” as she appeared to mock Kelly’s haters.

Following a backlash about this, Andrea’s rep responded by saying,

“This (video) in no way should be perceived as an extension of support for R. Kelly, but should be viewed as a statement of her strength and not having been defeated.”

The rep also notes that the clip is “several years old,” while adding that everyone’s healing process is different. You can watch the clip below:

R. Kelly, it would be recalled threatened to sue Lifetime should they go ahead to air the docuseries which he said paints him in a bad light. Lifetime, however, defied his court threat and went ahead with the docuseries which have garnered a lot of views and ironically also spiked Kelly’s music sales since its release.

Below is a clip of Andrea speaking out about Kelly’s alleged sexual habits.
