Talented dancer Dipeolu Damilola Dipson, also known as 1cloutdipson, shared his journey into the world of dance and how top artist Davido gave his career a significant boost.

1cloutdipson, who hails from Ogun State and is an only child, has had a passion for dance since he was very young. A student in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lagos, he began by borrowing and renting phones with good cameras to record his dance moves. He also used his mother’s phone to record practices and new dance routines. With the support of his parents and his determination, he started gaining recognition.

He explained, “I started from nothing, borrowing phones and even paying people to use their phones because they had good cameras to shoot and create good dance content.”

He also mentioned that he used to trek to various locations to create dance content, gather an audience on his page, and connect with other dancers and influencers to build his presence. He would save money to buy clothes and shoes to enhance the quality of his videos.

In 2021, he formed a dance group called City Boyz with friends he met in school and on social media, who shared the same dream of influencing the younger generation of Nigerians through dance.

1cloutdipson’s breakthrough came in 2021 when he created unique dance moves for “FEEL,” a song by Davido. The song’s video became the most viewed on YouTube since its release.

He expressed his happiness and gratitude for the opportunity to work with Davido and highlighted the massive support he received after Davido followed him on Instagram.

Reflecting on his journey as a dance influencer, 1cloutdipson said, “The attention has been overwhelming, but it’s a result of the hard work we’ve put into our job. We came into the limelight when we started creating dance trends for many songs, and they started going viral on the internet as soon as we formed the City Boyz. The exposure that came after performing with Davido made us believe that hard work and dedication pay off. It has opened more doors for me and my team in the aspect of music promotions.”
