The breakthrough we all seek in life is on the other side of fear. Circumstances may leave us handicap and helpless, but before the tangible victory is the resolve to pursue the dream we do not know where it leads.

One exceptional trait common among a large crop of young Nigerians of this generation is daring to do. This is indelible in fast fledgling artiste, Okolie Destiny, popularly known as Amas Destiny. Like the common narrative among successful entertainers, the Delta-born singer began his career at a tender age and kept feeding his dream with the right meal of hope and determination, that would one day steer him towards a celebrity.

Amas Destiny, who is the first born of four siblings, waited for a perfect opportunity to take the centre stage, and it came in 2020. Since making his entrance into scene, another music talent has been birthed. Even though he was born and raised in Benin City, Edo State, Amas Destiny has become a known figure in the south south region and elsewhere.. He attended the Federal Polytechnic in Auchi, after his primary and secondary education.

“I am by my name Okolie Destiny, nown by my stage name Amas Destiny.. I’m from Delta State, was born and broght up in Edo State and based in Lagos. I started my musical carrier at a little age but in 2020, i had to make the use of a recording studio when my professional journey actually started”, Amas Destiny said, during an interview session with entertainment reporters.

Speaking further, Amas Destiny said,
“I grew up as the first child among four siblings. I had to focus on growing up as a man of my own, facing the musical world and seeking knowledge. I finished my secondary and primary school in Benin and after that, I proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State to for my tertiary education.

Since hitting the national stage, the fan base of Amas Destiny has been growing within and outside the shores of the country. His type of Afro music genre i also gradually gaining wide acceptance among his African audience. In 2022, he released a hit track, ‘Is this love’, which has continues to rake in huge streaming numbers and consequently ensuring he smiles to the bank.

Earlier this year, Okolie Destiny had a tour of four major African cities comprising, Kigali, Gisenyi, Kibuye and Muhanga in Rwanda, promoting his music, as well as his hot single, ‘Is this love’. Speaking on the experience, Amas Destiny, who was born on October 20, 1997, stressed that the trip afforded him the opportunity to make new friends in the industry and build connection beyond West Africa, pointing iut that the tour exposed how much other Africans cherished and loved Nigerian music and culture.

“It was nice touring round and knowing some things about their kind of music, and also making friends with famous Rwanda artistes and collaborating with artistes and fans out there. It was such a great opportunity to explore new things and culture.

“The tour also brought to the fore the sheer love that fans in other countries have for Nigerian singers and our music. It is not just the lyrics alone, but also with the the style and culture put into African sounds and music”.

Amas Destiny identified Burna Boy, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Davido, Don Jazzy and Asake as some of the artistes, who have motivated him in the industry. However, he stated that he looks forward to collaborating with Asake.

“I have been inspired by many singers, not just basically one because seeing the background they came from, it inspires me. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Wande coal, Davido, Don jazzy, Asake and so many more”, stressed Destiny.

“On a personal note, will love to collaborate with Asake because he has been more of a friend and seeing him recording most times, he inspires me with his efforts to never give up and keep pushing hard.”

Outside the studio, Amas Destiny recently worked in partnership with an entertainment outfit to reach out to the less privileged persons in some communities in Nigeria.

“It is a blessing that I am blessed by God and I see it as a privilege by the Almighty creator, our God, who gave me the resources from which I have to help a few less privileged people in some communities. It is a joyful thing to partner with business owners to reach out to the needy ones and add value to the society,” reflected Amas Destiny.
