Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the ninth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise in anticipation of a new release date set for June 25.

In the new explosive trailer, Vin Diesel and his crew come under fire from John Cena, a skilled assassin and high-performance driver who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob.

The film will also feature snippets of Brian O’Conner, the character played by the late Paul Walker, who died in 2013.

Fast & Furious 9 was originally scheduled for worldwide release in April 2019 but it suffered several delays; first due to the releases of Hobbs & Shaw (2019) and No Time to Die (2021), and then the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now officially scheduled to world premiere in South Korea on May 19, 2021, and is set to be released in the United States on June 25, 2021.

Justin Lin directed the movie which is the sequel to The Fate of the Furious (2017); he previously directed three other films in the franchise: Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013).

F9 also stars Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Dom and Jakob’s sister, Sung Kang, rapper Cardi B and Reggaeton singer Ozuna.
