I don’t know about you, but I hate to iron. On my list of chores I absolutely hate, it’s number 3.I can’t count the number of times I’ve shown up at events with wrinkled clothes. Most of the time I really don’t care, but it’s not nice to have pictures of me floating around looking a mess. This is why I sought out stress-free ways to straighten wrinkles without actually having to iron.

Here are 5 of my favorite ways to straighten wrinkles :-

The Shower Method

I love this one the most because it’s probably the most convenient. Simply hang your wrinkled clothing in the bathroom and run hot water. You can do this while taking a shower so the steam smoothes out the wrinkles by the time you’re done. Or, if you don’t bathe with hot water, you can shower first, and then run the hot water while you do other things in preparation for stepping out. Either way, you kill two birds with one stone. Reember to close the doors and windows of your bathroom so the steam doesn’t get out.

Kettle Steaming

This is like the shower method, but for people who don’t fancy the idea of wasting water. Or for when it’s only a certain area of your clothing item that’s wrinkled. Fill your kettle up with water and let it come to a boil. As the heat starts to come out of the spout, hold up the areas with wrinkles about a foot away from the steaming spout until they are gone.

Spritz the Wrinkles Away

If you have a little time on your hands, this method will work for you. Hang the item so that it’s straight and fill a spray bottle with water. Standing a few inches away from the clothes, lightly spray the wrinkled areas. You can even add in some fabric softener if you’d like. As the water dries, the wrinkles will straighten out.

Put Ice Cubes Iin Your Dryer

For those who have a dryer at home, this is a great way to straighten wrinkles as you do your laundry. Put your wrinkled clothes and a few ice cubes in your dryer and run it on high heat for a few minutes. The ice will melt and turn into steam, which will then straighten the wrinkles. Don’t use a lot of ice cubes though; you only need a little to get the steam.

Use Your Hair Tools

If you have a blow dryer and/or hair straightener, you’re in luck. Your hair tools are perfect for getting wrinkles out of your clothes. If you’re using a straightener, be sure to make sure it’s clean, and adjust the heat to suit the fabric you’re straightening. If you’re using a blow dryer, hang your clothes, and dry from a few feet away.
