Sasha Banks aspires to become professional wrestling’s next major crossover star, following generations of wrestlers who have tried their hand at Hollywood using their acting chops. Banks had stated to the New York Post in 2021 that she aspires to perform in thriller films.

“I just finished watching the ‘Squid Games’ and I’m a huge, huge fan of Korean movies. So I would love to be in a show like that just that thriller, drama, really intense show where you really don’t know what’s going to happen,” Banks said. “And to be in a Korean movie, that’s always been one of my dreams. I would love to be in a movie one day. It could be any genre. I’m just excited to learn and do it all. I have so much time.”

Prior to her New York Post interview, Banks scored her first significant acting role on “The Mandalorian,” where she played the part of Koska Reeves in two episodes during the second season. The WWE star admitted that she even employed some wrestling techniques on the set, hitting a DDT during a battle scene with Boba Fett, in a separate interview with “Ahch-to-Radio.”

The list of professional wrestlers who have appeared on film is extremely impressive. Legendary wrestlers like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, André the Giant, Hulk Hogan, and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper have all found success in movies. John Cena has recently been cast in a number of high-profile film roles, and The Miz and Cody Rhodes have found success in television appearances.

Sasha Banks doesn’t want to be limited to cameo roles in films and television shows. “The Boss” wants to work her way up to the A-list and be the star of every project she undertakes. Banks stated in an interview with The Atlantic that she wants “people buying tickets to see Sasha Banks” and her “face on the posters.”

Banks has achieved success outside of wrestling. Banks witnessed her make her catwalk debut in 2022 while she was a model during New York Fashion Week, an event she compared to her first wrestling fight.
