Shaxxy, the 19-year-old influencer turned budding mainstream celebrity, is one of Nigeria’s biggest TikTok stars.

One of the most followed people in Nigeria on TikTok (behind Purple Speedy and Jadrolita), Shaxxy has parlayed her TikTok fame into that of a conventional celebrity better than most online influencers ever have.

That pivot has led to Shaxxy, whose full name is Uwazie Sharon Chimudiebube, releasing her own short films on YouTube, collaborating with Itel, and collaborating with JoBlaq, King of Reaction, and Abby.

Over the course of her career, however, she’s also become a face of conventional TikTok stardom: a creator who rose to prominence by performing dances and involving herself in TikTok trends, eventually moving out to oversee and join an influencer collective before turning online clout into brand deals and entertainment contracts.

This is how Shaxxy, who currently has over 1.1 million followers, went from posting videos for fun in 2023 to becoming one of Nigeria’s top TikTok best-known stars.
