Yvonne Orji: From ‘Insecure’ Star To Talk Show Host?
Yvonne Orji, known for her role in “Insecure,” recently appeared alongside Tom Brady on the “Hertz Let’s Go Show” in a series of commercials.
In an interview with CNN, Orji revealed that she had previously guest-hosted for Ellen DeGeneres and expressed her interest in hosting her own chat show someday.
She believes in the power of manifestation and feels that opportunities are coming her way. Alongside her commercial work with Hertz, Orji has a book titled “Bamboozled by Jesus” released in paperback in September, two comedy specials, and upcoming films such as “Vacation Friends 2” and “The Blackening.”
Orji credits her time on “Insecure” for providing a solid foundation and helping her pursue her dreams. She expresses her love for stand-up comedy, appreciating the immediate response from the audience.
Her forthcoming film, “The Blackening,” addresses the stereotype of Black characters dying first in horror films while also delving into discussions about Blackness. Orji sees this topic as something she would explore on her own talk show, envisioning a blend of roundtable discussions and Oprah’s style.
Overall, she feels grateful for the opportunities she has been given and is excited to continue pursuing her passions.
