The late Olokoda was buried according to Islamic rites on the same day she died.
The association described her as a pillar of support, a charismatic leader, an astute administrator, a noble personality, a visionary and indeed a colossus.
During a fidau prayer organised for the late Ghaniyyah, The Chief Missioner of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Ahmad, described her as a woman of substance, who was devoted to her family, husband and children.
“Ghaniyyah was a loving wife to her husband. She had an infectious personality, which affected her environment positively. She was hardworking, an entrepreneur and very productive. She was very impactful. So many young people will never forget her role in their lives. May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings as no one is perfect,” he said.
Member of MICA, Sulaiman Arigbabu, commended the husband of the Late Ghaniyyah for standing firm during her trying times.
“Ghaniyyah would have been 50 years in May, but we thank Allah for the life she lived. May Allah bless everyone who stood with her during her last days, making life easier for her. Likewise, everyone who stood by the husband and family. May Allah reward the husband, Sulaiman gave us a reality check on how to be a loving spouse. May Allah grant her the best in the hereafter,” he said.
Dr. Adeola KM described Ghaniyyah as an enigma “We thank Allah for giving her time to prepare for her transition. When it is time to die as a Muslim. May Allah bless everyone that helped to make her last day easy for her,” he prayed.
The founder of SHEO, Ghaniyyah Fajingbesin, described her as a compassionate person who was readily available to render assistance to people.
“I met Ghaniyyah 30 years ago at a computer lesson and up till when she passed away. she was supportive. I pray to Allah to forgive her for things we don’t know about her. I pray to Allah to forgive her wrongs and have mercy on her. Allah will be with her husband and kids and reunite us on the day of judgement with the best of His creation.
Member of MICA, Sulaiman Adedokun described her as a passionate and a pious Muslimah. “She was somebody that radiated happiness. I have never seen her in a sad mood. She was a Muslimah who you can be proud of. She was hell-bent on finding solutions to people’s problems and she lived a selfless life.
“She developed solutions and solved people’s problems. I pray Allah makes life easy for the husband to cope with her demise. This is a lesson for all of us, that life is short. Let us prepare ourselves and make life easier for others. Life becomes meaningful when our lives impact others positively,” he said.
The Late Ghaniyyah (neé Ipadeola) is a Princess of the Alaafin Royal Family of Oyo town and was born on the 1st of May in Lagos. She had her Primary education at different schools, all in Lagos.
In 1991, she gained admission to the then Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University), Ado-Ekiti, and, in 1997, she also graduated as one of the best in her class; with a BSc. (Hons), Second Class Upper degree in Psychology.
Her unpublished BSc. Thesis: ‘Assessment of Mental Health Status: Support For A Two-Dimensional Conceptualisation’ perhaps, ignited in her, a strong passion for mental health advocacy, and during her National Youth Service, she volunteered her time and service in the rehabilitation of the ‘Good Boys and Girls’ under the OPERATION WEED FOR FLOWERS Programme (of the Military Administration of Col. Buba Marwa as Governor of Lagos State then) through the administration of psychological tests and use of psychological techniques.
Ghaneeyyah was passionate about a lot of things. At Here and After; the Relationship Education and Counselling Centre where she runs a private practice as a Clinical Psychologist and Relationship Coach/Therapist, she specialises in working with individuals & couples, initiating and managing projects and activities aimed at personal, interpersonal, business and spiritual development.
She also designed faith-appropriate capacity building trainings. Some of the bespoke programs or services she offers include: ‘SinglesConnect; a Relationship Education Course for Singles’, PREPAIR; a bespoke Marriage Preparation Programmes for About-to-wed Couples and ENREACH; a personalized Marriage Enrichment Programmes for Couples. Her passion and dedication to helping singles develop the skills they need to become better and to help them better in their search for a soul mate and real love have also led to her creating a Social Hangout for Singles who have gone through her Singles Connect Programme. These privately organised Dinners, Luncheons and Cocktails, tagged: ‘Muhammad meets Khadijah/Aisha’, were heavily subsidised by her other business concerns and she provided offline opportunities for single Muslims who want to connect with other like-minded single Muslims and find the love they want Muslim style!
She was not only a trained Family Systems Engineering Practitioner, she offers services in both mainstream and Faith-based professional counselling and therapy. In addition, she regularly wrote on relationship issues and gave talks at Religious and Business Meetings. She also counseled individuals, couples and groups as a Relationship Coach. She readily volunteered her time to work with and speak at various organisations and was a guest on a number of Television and Radio programmes, both live and recorded; such as NTA 2, LTV 8, MiTv, TVC, RaveTv, Radio Lagos/Eko Fm; Naija Fm, Inspiration Fm, City Fm, Moments with Mo and others.
Following the recent Ita Faji building collapse in March 2019, she volunteered her time and skills, alongside other professionals, to form a Coalition of NGOs and Professional Bodies in Lagos, to provide much-needed psychological support to those affected.
