NADDC boss inspects Ado-Ekiti training centre

Following the completion of the installation of equipment at the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) Automotive Training Centre in Ado Ekiti, the Director General, NADDC, Joseph Osanipin, inspected the facility to ascertain the functionality of the equipment.

During his visit, Osanipin engaged in a dialogue with the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment in Ekiti State, Fasae Kayode Omotayo.
Discussions centered on potential collaborations aimed at enhancing the growth of the automotive industry.

Omotayo underscored the Ministry’s commitment to job creation and expressed gratitude to the federal government for its numerous initiatives in the state, including the establishment of the training centre. He emphasized the centre’s potential to empower individuals through knowledge transfer and skill development.

Osanipin also emphasized the importance of empowering the youths, especially the automotive artisans through training in modern automotive innovations such as mechatronics technology. He expressed the Council’s readiness to partner with private entities to invest in the Nigerian auto industry, as well as effectively manage skills development centers, thus contributing to job and wealth creation.

The NADDC boss elaborated on the council’s industrial and skills development programmes to bridge the knowledge and skill gap in the industry. Some of such initiatives include the Sector Skill Council and National Occupational Standard (NOS), which are aimed at developing comprehensive training curricula and standards for the automotive sector in sync with international best standards. The Centre is one of the very many projects of the council geared towards job creation and economic empowerment across the country.
