Preparations are underway for the 2025 edition of the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards, an annual event organised by the Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation in collaboration with the Peace Ambassador Agency. Scheduled for November 8 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, this year’s gathering will mark the 15th anniversary of the awards, reflecting a decade and a half of efforts to promote peace, advocacy, and national unity in Nigeria.
The theme for the 2025 edition, “Peace Building Through Sectoral Partnerships: Public and Private Sector Collaboration”, highlights the event’s focus on encouraging cooperation across sectors to address societal challenges. Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director of Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation and Peace Ambassador Agency, told journalists in Abuja that the event will celebrate leaders and organisations whose work has made a tangible impact on society.
“This year’s edition coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards. It is an opportunity to recognise individuals and institutions that have consistently contributed to peace, social development, and national cohesion, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation,” Amafibe said.
The awards ceremony will feature the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree from American Management University, California, alongside the prestigious Peace Icon Award. Categories include Brand Company of the Year, Most Influential Personality of the Year, and Peace Advocate of the Year. The awards will also honour Peace Builders, Emerging Leaders, Community Developers, and Humanitarians who have demonstrated dedication to societal progress.
In addition to the awards, attendees can expect a dynamic programme including music performances, comedy acts, fashion exhibitions, and other cultural showcases. Amafibe emphasised that the event’s focus extends beyond recognition, stating, “As a non-profit organisation, we channel support from our partners towards impactful projects for the less privileged. These initiatives include Peace Education Campaigns, Health Outreach Schemes, Back-to-School Programmes, and human capacity enhancement projects that complement governmental efforts at all levels.”
Nominations for the 2025 awards have already commenced, opening opportunities for individuals and organisations whose contributions to peace and societal development are worthy of national and international recognition.
