The DigiGap Programme, a transformative initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerians with essential technology skills, has ended with 500 youths gaining the necessary digital skills that will aid their career prospects.

The initiative of Access Corporation and NerdzFactory Foundation, which was in its fifth edition, was tailored towards shaping the career future of the participants while contributing to the overall growth of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the programme, Director of NerdzFactory Foundation, Ade Olowojoba, described the initiative as “a catalyst for transformation.”

“As the programme ends, NerdzFactory Foundation and Access Corporation reaffirm their commitment to empowering young Nigerians with the skills needed to succeed in the digital age. “

With plans to expand future editions of the programme, the partnership aims to continue driving social innovation and fostering human capital development in Nigeria,” he said. He noted that the programme empowered the participants with knowledge and experience in Product Design and Digital Marketing over a period of four weeks.

“The hybrid learning model, blending online and in-person sessions, ensured participants not only gained technical skills but also practical experience crucial for the digital economy.

“The DigiGap Programme is part of a larger effort to prepare Nigeria’s youth for the increasing demands of the global digital workforce.

“With Nigeria rising as a significant player in the tech industry, programmes like DigiGap are essential for building a workforce capable of thriving in the 21st century. Beyond technical training, the programme emphasised critical soft skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving, which are indispensable for success in the modern workplace,” he added.
