AAAN’s meeting, congress begins in Ibadan

The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has said that its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Congress will begin today in Ibadan to bring together key stakeholders from across Nigeria’s advertising and marketing ecosystem for three days of industry-defining dialogue, networking, and celebration.

The event, which will take place at JAGZ Hotel in the Iyaganku area of Ibadan, has as theme: “Charting Bold Paths Forward.” The yearly general meeting and congress will begin with a fireside chat at 7:00 p.m. with the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr Lekan Fadolapo.

The main conference will be held on Friday, with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State scheduled to declare it open. He will be joined by dignitaries, including the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi. They are expected to drive high-level conversations around policy, regulation, and the future of the creative economy.

Also, a major highlight of the day will be keynote addresses by the CEO of Impact Hub Lagos, Idowu Akinde, and GM, Brand Marketing and Advertising at Airtel Nigeria, Bolanle Osotule.

This will be followed by a high-level panel discussion moderated by the Creative Director at 7even Interactive, Oluwatobi Williams. Panellists expected at the session include MD/CEO, Digisplash Limited, Damola Richard Salvador; Executive Adviser, Youth & Sports to Oyo State Governor, Dr Seun Fakorede; Senior Category & Channel Manager, Nigerian Breweries, Josiah Akinola, and Executive Director, TBWA\Concept, George Onukwu.

According to AAAN President, Lanre Adisa, the theme of this year’s congress is a direct response to the shifting terrain of marketing communications. The event will close with a gala and awards Night, where advertising professionals will be celebrated for excellence in the industry.
