Says it’s promise made good
In keeping to his promise to release free buses specifically for conveying Abia State indigenes back to their state from Lagos this December 2025, Governor Alex Otti said he had fulfilled his promise, as over 20 buses have been released for the exercise.
Speaking on the exercise, Lagos State Liaison Officer, Mrs Ugochi Essienette, who stood for the governor as the exercise kicked off in Lagos, said: “It is a fulfilment of the promise made by Otti, who also ordered the release of buses last year that conveyed almost 1,000 indigenes home.”
She disclosed further that the release of the free buses was not limited to Lagos but to a few other major cities, including Abuja.
Essienette said that the first batch left on Saturday, disclosing that the exercise would continue till December 23, 2025.
She noted further that the state government had also provided free urban mass transit for the Christmas and New Year period within the state.
“Don’t forget that the state government has also introduced electric buses as part of efforts to modernise public transportation in Abia, with the first batch of 20 buses having arrived in the state,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Executive Director, Igbo Ndi-Oma Africa TV, Obinna Orji, who at the event commended the governor, said: “Otti is delivering democracy dividends to the joy of all Abians. He has elevated governance in the state.”
