ACCO alumni to donate classroom blocks, equipment at 40th reunion

Class of 83, Anglican Comprehensive College, Offa (ACCO), Kwara State, will donate two furnished modern classroom blocks and office spaces to the 65-year-old school on Saturday.

The President, Class of 83, Sanusi Mudasiru, who is also Chief Audit and Assurance Officer, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Group, said the donation was part of activities to mark the set’s 40th reunion.

The reunion and handing over of the donations will be held at the school’s premises on Saturday, July 22, 2023, and is expected to be graced by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRaham AbdulRasaq; the Oloffa of Offa, HRH Mufutai Gbadamosi, religious leaders and old Students of ACCO.

According to Mudasiru, the class decided to give back to the school to improve conducive learning environment, while also fulfilling its goal of giving back to the society.

“This is the power of coming together. I enjoin all past and present students to learn from the little we have done, and come together to better the learning experience of the students. Government cannot do it alone,” Mudasiru said.

Two years ago, the Class of ‘83 donated generators, scanning and photocopy machines and other sundry items worth millions of naira to the school.

ACCO was founded in 1967 by the Church Missionary Society (CMS) of Nigeria, Offa Chapter, and the first set of students admitted to the school started academic work on January 30, 1967.
