Act against herdsmen’s activities or we will defend ourselves, INC urges FG
The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has urged the Federal Government to take urgent actions against herdsmen activities or the Ijaw will be forced to take laws into their own hands.
The Ijaw apex group raised the alarm over the alleged kidnapping and killing of their son by suspected Fulani herdsmen. National Publicity Secretary of INC, Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, in a statement yesterday, condemned the kidnapping and murder of one Mr Clement Amorn, who, he said, was abducted from Agbere Community in Bayelsa State on December 28, 2024, and found dead on December 30, 2024.
Oyakemeagbegha said: “The INC was reliably informed that the suspects are believed to be Fulani herdsmen.
“We, therefore, urge security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and apprehend perpetrators of the heinous crime, otherwise, we will be forced to take matters into our own hands. We cannot idly watch while our innocent people are being maimed and killed in their land.”
He said the INC commiserates with Amorn’s family and the Agbere Community over the unfortunate incident, assuring that INC will relentlessly pursue justice.
