Adeboye, others task parents, governments on right foundation for children

The General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, and the National Chairman, Prison and Hospital Ministry, RCCG, Pastor Ayo Ariyo, have called on parents to pay attention to the well-being of their children, as the high number of children in remand homes calls for concern and a serious look into family values.

They spoke, yesterday, at the 4th RCCG conference on Prison and Hospital Ministry theme: “Wonders of Freedom” held at RCCG, House of Favour, Redemption City of God. Adeboye, who was represented by the National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, said that Prison and Hospital Ministry is very dear to his heart.

“Those who are sick and hospitalised anchor their hope on medical science, but the physicians themselves know that they care, but only God heals, while those in correction centres or prisons are in confinement away from society and are living in another world with social denials and constraints,” he said. Akande called on parents and the government to give the children the necessary foundation of godly training that will prepare them for the future.

The Controller of Correction Centres, Lagos State Command, Ben-Rabbi Freedman, said that the whole concept of corrections lies in providing opportunities for education, vocational training, as well as training in modern farming techniques and husbandry.
