Adeleke seeks subnational partnership between Ghana, Nigeria

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has called on leaders of Ghana and Nigeria to extend the close partnership between the two countries to subnational levels for mutually beneficial outcomes.
He said the Ghana-Nigeria Commission should encourage state-regional government cooperation to enable the two nations to attain further developmental cooperation.
Adeleke made this known after a closed-door meeting with Ghanaian President John Mahama at his residence in Accra, praising the historical relationship between the two countries as deserving of further elevation.
He congratulated Mahama on his assumption of office and hailed President Bola Tinubu on his outing at the inauguration.
“We rejoice with the people of Ghana and we look forward to new opportunities with regional and local governments across Ghana. Osun is open to commercial and cultural relationships for the mutual benefit of our people,” the governor was quoted by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, as saying in a statement on Wednesday.
Six Nigerian governors attended the inauguration alongside top private and public officials from Nigeria.
