Urge Nigerians to shun religious, ethnic sentiments
The Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG), yesterday, urged Nigerians to shun ethnic and religious sentiments and focus on experience, competence and capacity of candidates to decide their choices in the 2023 general elections.
The group said that Tinubu more than any other candidates would deepen Nigeria’s democracy and should be supported.
Chairman of the group, Olawale Oshun, who spoke in Lagos, said Nigeria needs a patriotic, experienced, competent and non-tribalistic person that is prepared to dispassionately lead the country.
He also urged voters to genuinely scrutinise the candidates to ensure that those who genuinely believe in their welfare are voted into offices, be it executive or legislative.
SIMILARLY, young professionals, under the aegis of Young Professionals for Tinubu (YP4T), have declared support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
Chairman of the association, Mr. John Ikeotuonye, disclosed the position of the group during a medical outreach organised by the group in Ikeja, Lagos.
He said the country needs the wisdom, expertise and intellectual prowess of leaders like Tinubu and Shettima to take the nation to a greater height, adding that Tinubu has remained a leader, who carries youths along in activities of governance.
Ikeotuonye reaffirmed the group’s readiness to support Tinubu’s presidential ambition, owing to his capacity to identify key people among the young talents and giving them the right opportunity and empowering them to be part of governance.
