Eight people were killed in Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna State in a fresh wave of attack by terrorists in the Southern Kaduna Community.

The attack in the troubled community was on the heels similar invasion by bandits in Birnin Gwari local government area, less than 24 hours, where nine people lost their lives, and others were kidnapped.

The fresh attack on Atak’Njei community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday night by terrorists which claimed eight lives, and several others injured, also saw villagers scamper for safety as many of them flee.

The attack which occurred at about 9:00 pm is coming weeks after a similar attack on Langson community in Zangon Kafaf local government area that claimed 10 lives.

Specifically, Atak’Njei is the community housing the Palace of the Atyap Paramount ruler, Agwatyap.

Reacting to the unfortunate development yesterday (Thursday), the National President, Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA), Sam Timbuwak Achie, condemned the attack describing it as barbaric.

Achie tasked all those saddled with the responsibility of securing the people to fish out those behind the series of attacks in Atyapland.

While confirming the incident, the Council Chairman, Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Francis Sani Zimbo, said the injured are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals in the area.

The Police Spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige could not respond to telephone calls put across to him for reaction, by the Guardian.
