Ahmadiyya opens clinic in Kano today
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria, will today, open a new hospital located on Kano- Maiduguri Road in Kano.The foundation-laying ceremony was performed by the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in July 2021. He was assisted by the Commissioner for Health and the Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez.
The clinic is equipped with state-of-the- art medical facilities for 100 patients per day, laboratory tests and general medical consultancy. The inauguration would be performed by the Emir, to be assisted by other traditional rulers within his domain.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria, led by Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, will be in Kano for the event. Other dignitaries expected at the occasion include officials of Kano State government, agencies, and heads of Federal Government parastatals and security agencies in the state such as the police, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) ,the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) among others.
It would be recalled the Ahmadiyya established its the first Muslim Hospital in Nigeria in Apapa, Lagos in late 1950s and another on Bompai Road in Kano in 1962, which have been providing health care to the teeming people of Lagos, Kano and beyond.
The Federal Capital Territory will soon get a hospital as lands have been acquired in Gwadalada, Central Business District, and along Keffi – Abuja Expressway.
