Founder of SMFEST and Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Africa Technologies, Ajah Excel, has announced that the 2025 edition of the Social Media Fest (SMFEST) will take place on October 18 at FWC, Wuye, Abuja, under the theme “Africa Unlocked: Leading the Digital Revolution.”
The event, tagged as one of Africa’s leading gatherings for technology, innovation, and the creator economy, will bring together founders, investors, creators, and policymakers to explore how digital technologies can unlock new opportunities across the continent.
Speaking ahead of the conference, Ajah Excel described SMFEST as a platform that continues to shape Africa’s digital and creative narrative.

Over the years, SMFEST has evolved into a major platform for dialogue on innovation and entrepreneurship, hosting thought leaders and innovators who share insights on how digital tools are transforming industries and empowering young Africans.
This year’s edition will feature speakers including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ben Kalu; Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank, Abubakar Suleiman; and Executive Director of MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya.
Leading brands such as Sterling Bank, MTN Nigeria, Zoho, Silicon Africa Technologies, and Primestix Construction have signed on as headline partners for the 2025 edition, underscoring the event’s growing influence at the intersection of business, technology, and creativity.
The festival will feature panel sessions, exhibitions, and startup showcases, with a focus on knowledge exchange and collaboration to scale innovation across Africa.
