A technology accelerator, ALX, has bagged the Social Innovation Award at the fifth edition of the just-concluded Art of Technology Awards held at the Landmark Events Centre in Lagos.
The ceremony was part of a two-day event organised by the Lagos State government to recognise individuals, organisations, and start-ups that have excelled in their efforts to stimulate the growth of the Nigerian tech ecosystem.
ALX was declared the winner of the Social Innovation Award, which was meant to honour start-ups that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to social innovation and fostering sustainable development through their technological innovations.
In a highly contested category, the tech provider secured the highest votes by beating other top nominees, such as Slum2School, LifeBankNG, Hervest, Clafiya, MDaas Global, and Dynalimb Technologies.
Country Manager of ALX Nigeria, Ruby Igwe, while reacting to the award, described the recognition as a reinforcement of the organisation’s mission.
In his welcome address, Lagos State Governor, BabajideSanwo-Olu, urged all federal and state actors to collaborate with players within the tech space.
“When we work together, we will be able to implement measures that will safeguard intellectual property and cultivate an environment where creativity is not only protected but also flourishes,” he said.
