The National Organising Secretary, Dr. Sulaiman Argungu, in a chat with reporters in Abuja, explained that the party was waiting for President Bola Tinubu to conclude his appointments into embassies, ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
The Sokoto-born politician also cited the need to ensure conducive environment for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct by-elections,
The APC chieftain also faulted the notions that it had embarked on sale of expression of interest and nomination forms to candidates secretly.
Besides, the ruling party is to honour President Tinubu and his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, for their contributions to good governance and sustenance of democratic rule in the country.
Other recipients of the awards, initiated by Dr. Tom Ohikere, include former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, his successor, Sen. Kashim Shettima, APC governors, national and state assembly members, as well as national chairmen to herald the body’s 25thanniversary.
He noted: “The productivity and performance award is to encourage and boost the level of performance, by recognising and appreciating party members and leaders, who have distinguished themselves as public officials since the inception of the APC administration in Nigeria to stimulate replication by other members.”
