Women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State led by Theresa Ohanuha have warned the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, not to enter the state forthwith to avoid their wrath.

This was contained in a communiqué issued after their protest on Saturday against the suspension the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, from the party by the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Oshiomhole.

According to them, Oshiomhole does not have moral justification to remain the party chairman after failing to deliver President Muhammadu Buhari and APC in his council and state during the February 23 elections.

They accused the former Edo State governor of unnecessarily attacking, insulting and suspending Okorocha who they said “built the party” in the South East.

“These actions of Oshiomhole negatively affected the outcome of the recent presidential election in Imo. The suspension of the Imo West senator-elect, Governor Rochas Okorocha, on the basis of anti-party activities is unacceptable.

“We are sure that Mr. President is not aware of these events. We, the APC women in Imo State, respectfully appeal to Mr. President to call Oshiomhole to order.”

Meanwhile, Okorocha has exonerated Buhari from his travails in the APC.

The governor insisted that his clash with the party was solely the creation of Oshiomhole.

In a statement yesterday, his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, said: “Rochas Okorocha has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is too decent and cannot be part of Mr. Adams Oshiomhole’s appetite for lawlessness, especially in running the affairs of the APC.”

According to the statement, Oshiomhole has been accused of doing many strange things.

“Adams Oshiomhole has done so many strange things with the party and it would be wrong for anybody to think that President Buhari, known for his penchant for decency, honesty and forthrightness, would be on the same page with the national chairman.

“The national chairman of the party has told the world that he wanted to ensure party supremacy, and he has been doing so to the best of his ability, because from all indications he has his own idea of party supremacy.

“Oshiomhole’s idea of party supremacy could be the purported suspension of two governors on the platform of the party few days after the presidential and national assembly elections in which the party did well without any contribution from him.”
