APC youths project Dayo Israel as minister

Dayo Israel

Youth wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for appointment of the party’s National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, as Minister of Youth.

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, inaugurated 45 ministers, leaving office of the Minister of Youth vacant.

The young Nigerians said since assuming office 18 months ago, Israel had exhibited international exposure, achievements, impressive profile, and excellent leadership skills to qualify him for a ministerial post.

In a statement, signed yesterday by deputy national youth leader, Jamaludeen Kabir, and zonal leaders, Oluwaseun Oguntade and Mogaji Olatunde, they observed that Israel’s commitment and contributions during the party’s presidential campaigns further attest to his dedication, adding that his appointment would greatly benefit Nigerian youths and the nation.

The youngsters said just like his colleague, Beta Edu, the former women leader of the APC, who was appointed Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation to represent her gender, Israel was better positioned to lead the youth, urging the President to grant their request.

The statement reads in part: “Dayo Israel has shown capacity, especially in his role as national youth leader of the party, his success and immense achievements cannot be over-emphasised.

“His commitment and contributions during our party’s presidential campaigns further demonstrate his dedication to our cause. We believe his appointment would greatly benefit Nigerian youths and the nation as a whole.”
