Aret Adams memorial lecture holds July 6

Major players and stakeholders in oil and gas industry, financial institutions and manufacturing, as well as captains of industry, will gather for this year’s 20th yearly Aret Adams memorial lecture series slated for July 6, 2023, at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Managing Director/CEO of First Exploration and Petroleum Development Company, Ademola Adeyemi-Bero, would be the Keynote Speaker at the event with the theme “Critical Actions to Revive Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry for National Development.”
According to the Programmes Manager of Aret Adams Foundation, Akin Jokojeje, other seasoned professionals, technocrats and experts in oil and gas sector billed to give talk on the topic as panellists include Chief Executive Officer, Heirs Holdings Oil & Gas Limited, Osa Igieho and Executive Chairman, AA Holdings, Austin Avuru.
He said the foundation was established in honour of the late Chief Godwin Aret Adams, the first Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (1988 to 1990), who later became Special Adviser on Petroleum Resources to former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd), in 1998.
Jokojeje said the national energy policy delivered to the Federal Government in April 1980 was formulated by the late Aret Adams and that it was him that re-energised negotiations that led to the successful execution of shareholders’ agreements for the execution of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) project in 1989 and many others.
