Bishop, Egbu Diocese of the Anglican Church, Geoffrey Enyinnnaya Okorafor, has appealed to political leaders to enshrine good governance in order to bring to an end, incidences of insecurity, ethnicity, tribalism, selfishness, greed and indifference to the plight of the masses, urging Christians to pray fervently to achieve peace and desirable government in the land.

The cleric made the plea yesterday at the third session of the eight synod with the theme “Why do you boast if you received it?” held at Christ Anglican Church, Awaka, Owerri North Local Government Area.

He appealed to the State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, to have mercy on the persons employed almost at the twilight of the former governor but were promptly sacked by Ihedioha, saying they are sons and daughters of the governor and people of the state. On the restoration of full payment of salaries to civil servants that were cut by the immediate past administration, he commended him for that, urging him to restore full in the case of those still complaining that there are still short paid.
