Agagu, who delivered the lecture which he backed up with the promise in 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 9 verse 8 that God is able to make all grace abound towards people for them to always have sufficiency in all things, said the economic downturn, food insecurity, high cost of living and other challenges facing the nation are not beyond what God can tackle.

Wading through other scriptures in the Bible and citing modern day experiences, including the economic recession in the United States that lasted for almost a decade, Agagu established the fact that what is happening today in Nigeria had happened to many nations past and present and God came to their rescue, especially when the people exhibited trust in his words and hope in his promises.

The lecturer, who listed corruption, reckless spending by leaders, and high cost of governance, among others, as the causes of the hardship in the country, called for what he termed ‘renewed mindset’ by the leaders that will shun corruption, greed and selfishness but be committed to prudent management of resources for the benefit of all Nigerians. He advised the citizens to engage in socio-economic activities that will help their situation and boost efforts at reviving the nation’s economy. Agagu urged the church, as the repository of dignity, to always tell the nation’s leaders the truth.

At the well attended event, Bishop Pirisola urged Nigerians not to be discouraged by the current realities in the land but look to God who is more than capable to fix the country.
