Atiku’s spokesperson challenges Omokri to explain Tinubu’s secondary school certificate

In the wake of a heated verbal brawl between the media advisor to Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, and former presidential aide Reno Omokri, the former has challenged Omokri to explain how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu acquired his secondary school certificate.

In a post shared on X, Ibe joined forces with Mike Arnold to call out Omokri, who had mentioned that Arnold debunked the claims of Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Arnold described Omokria as a pathological liar who would “go down in history as the Joseph Goebbels of the Nigerian Christian Genocide.”

Supporting Arnold, Ibe, who has been a vocal critic of Omokri, described Omokri as a man whose loyalty is as fleeting as quicksand.

“Reno, you need help. Whether clinical or spiritual, that’s for you to decide. But what’s beyond dispute is that you are a master of treachery, a Judas Iscariot — an unrepentant opportunist whose reputation precedes him like a foul stench.

“Even those smiling beside you today do so with suspicion, fully aware that your loyalty is as steady as quicksand,” Ibe wrote.

He also criticised Omokri for being fixated on credibility despite lacking it himself.

“But since you seem obsessed with the idea of credibility, here’s a challenge: instead of clowning around on the imaginary Lagos-Calabar expressway, why not explain how Government College Lagos managed to award a certificate to “Bola A. Tinubu” in 1970 — two full years before the school was established?

“Better still, if you really care about truth and character, join the call for the FBI to release Tinubu’s drug records in the United States. Or has your newfound loyalty erased your former fire and fury about his criminal past?,” Ibe asked.

Tinubu has faced long-running controversies over his educational qualifications, particularly regarding the certificates he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tinubu was also allegedly linked to a 1993 U.S. federal investigation in Chicago concerning narcotics and money laundering.

During the 2023 elections,  questions were raised about the authenticity of his academic records, including certificates from Government College and Chicago State University (CSU).

At the time, Omokri joined the bandwagon of Nigerians criticising Tinubu and demanding answers. Omokri, however, joined forces with Tinubu after he won the election and began praising him.
