Avila Naturalle, others promote Made In Nigeria products in Kenya
The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has chosen Avila Naturalle Limited, a leading Nigerian manufacturer of natural beauty and wellness products, alongside other seven companies, as the frontline companies to participate in Nigeria’s inaugural shipment to Kenya under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement to promote made in Nigeria products.
The President, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Gearge Akume, at the inaugural shipping event in Lagos, said the initiative would revolutionise the Nigeria economic landscape in line with the renew hope agenda of this administration, which is centered around economic development and the people.
Akume explained that the selection came as Avila Naturalle and other compines commitment to quality and excellence in the production of natural and sustainable products and their capacity and readiness to harness the opportunities of the intra-Africa transborder trade through the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative.
Akume said: “Every Nigerian business can benefit from this Agreement. Government will provide the necessary support to facilitate the success of the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative as we embark on this journey toward economic transformation. The journey to prosperity has just begun”.
The President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Avila Naturalle Limited, Dr. Temitope Mayegun, who received certificate of origin as the pioneer exporter, said the Nigeria’s inaugural shipping through the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative is a significant milestone both for Avila Naturalle and Nigeria.
She said: “We are honoured and excited to be part of this historic moment in the development of trade in Africa. Our participation in this shipment demonstrates our dedication to expanding our reach and sharing our natural and sustainable products with a wider audience across the continent of Africa.”
The CEO noted that AfCFTA agreement would also motivate Nigerian businesses to expand their businesses to other African countries, thereby fostering business growth, increase profit, and contribute substantially to the development of the manufacturing sector.
