The Bauchi State Government is set to hand over the newly constructed Mangari Model Primary School, Misau, ahead of the 2025/2026 academic session to accommodate more than 5,000 pupils.
Chairman of Misau Local Government, Salisu Hussaini, disclosed this on Saturday during an inspection of grassroots projects across the state’s 20 local councils.
Hussaini said the school comprises over 50 classrooms, in addition to administrative blocks and staff rooms, with each classroom designed to acomodate about 50 pupils.
He said the project aims to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.
Commissioner for Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, who led the inspection team, urged the council to safeguard the facility from vandalism by putting security and maintenance measures in place.
In response, Hussaini said security personnel have been engaged to protect the school and warned that any act of sabotage would be met with the full weight of the law.
“We have noticed that those who vandalise projects are often insiders working with outsiders. We have resolved to deal with this issue with all seriousness,” he said.
