Beware, U.S. govt doesn’t want you in 2027, Apostle Ayodele tells Tinubu

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged President Bola Tinubu to remain vigilant following growing tensions between Nigeria and the United States over reported attacks on Christians.

His warning comes after the US government accused Nigeria of failing to prevent violence against Christian communities, with former President Donald Trump reportedly threatening potential military action.

In a statement issued through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claimed that the escalating rhetoric from Washington was part of a wider scheme aimed at destabilising Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I have been talking about America fighting Tinubu’s government, but they didn’t take cognisance. When I spoke about the coup, some political commentators criticised it, but what has happened now?” he said.

Primate Ayodele described the development as a coordinated effort by both local and foreign actors to weaken the president’s authority and pave the way for the opposition.
“Tinubu’s government must not sleep on it. It’s a plan to send the government off in 2027. Beyond the allegations, it’s an orchestrated plan to send Tinubu out of power. The president hasn’t seen it that way,” he warned.

He further alleged that the opposition had secured backing from international allies to unseat the president.
“Either Tinubu likes it or not, it’s a signal to deviate from the strength and power of his government. The opposition has completed their dealings with some international countries to get support to remove Tinubu from office,” he stated.
Ayodele called on the president to seek divine guidance and strengthen his administration’s internal cohesion.

“It’s a gang-up plan to remove you from office. Don’t sleep, more is coming. He needs to seek the face of God. The American government doesn’t want Tinubu in 2027,” he added.
The Guardian reports that the American president had on Saturday threatened the world’s most populous black nation with war, saying he had directed the Pentagon to prepare plans for possible military intervention in Nigeria over alleged failure to stop attacks on Christians.
In a social media post, Trump warned that Washington could halt aid to Nigeria and “go in guns-a-blazing” if the government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”
He added that he had instructed the “Department of War to prepare for possible action,” saying any strike would be “fast, vicious, and sweet.”

The remarks followed his announcement a day earlier, declaring Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” over alleged persecution of Christians — a move that drew immediate criticism from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
