Buhari supported Lagos to develop legacy projects, says Ambode

Former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has called on Nigerians to uphold the ideals of unity, equity, and visionary governance as he paid tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking in the wake of Buhari’s passing, Ambode said the former president’s life and leadership left behind lessons that must guide the country’s future.

According to him, Buhari’s support for Lagos State during his administration was a testament to his deep understanding of Nigeria’s diversity and his commitment to fairness.

“President Buhari showed unwavering support for Lagos, not just in words but in action,” Ambode recalled. “He approved transformative projects like the upgrade of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Road and handed over key federal assets such as the Presidential Lodge in Marina. These were decisions that reflected not just political will, but national vision.”

Ambode used the moment to emphasize the importance of institutional memory and continuity, saying that Buhari’s gestures should inspire future leaders to govern with equity, calm resolve, and a sense of divine accountability.

“His calm strength, discipline, and belief in Nigeria’s promise are values we must not lose,” Ambode said.

Offering condolences to the Buhari family and the nation, Ambode prayed for the late president’s peaceful rest.

“May Almighty Allah accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus,” he said.
