Grammy-winning American rapper Cardi B has addressed her relationship status regarding involvement with Nigerian Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye. Following weeks of speculation about a potential romance, she made it clear during an Instagram video.
She said, “No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears. I got all the tea on these celebrities…I know who’s with who and what’s doing what,” she stated.
Highlighting the double standards of some media reports, she added, “But guess what? Nobody reports on it. You want to know why? Because nobody cares.”
Lamenting her lack of privacy, the rapper pointed out how ordinary actions involving her routinely turn into major news events.
“But when it comes to me… I can’t even… do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy,” she said.
“You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk.”
The rumors first caught public attention when the international music star and the professional football player were spotted together at the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week. Viral video footage captured Okoye courteously assisting the rapper to her seat and handing her a fan, followed by clips of the pair chatting comfortably on a terrace. The speculation intensified further after the duo was recently seen enjoying an intimate dinner with friends at a waterfront restaurant overlooking the canals in Venice, Italy.
The public appearances immediately sent social media into a frenzy. Across platforms like TikTok and Instagram, female fans flooded the internet with dedicated videos reacting to the handsome Nigerian international, praising his striking looks and creating viral challenges centered around his sudden global spotlight. Despite the massive public interest, neither Cardi B nor Okoye officially confirmed a romantic relationship.
Cardi B, born Belcalis Almánzar, remains one of the most dominant forces in modern hip-hop. Rising from social media prominence to mainstream superstardom, she made history with chart-topping anthems like “Bodak Yellow” and multiple Billboard-charting albums, cementing her legacy as a cultural icon.
On the other hand, Maduka Okoye has carved out a stellar reputation in professional football. Serving as a reliable goalkeeper for the Nigerian national team (Super Eagles) and Italian Serie A club Udinese, Okoye has long been celebrated for his athleticism on the pitch.
