Council blacklists revenue collectors over alleged breach
THE legislative arm of Ovia South West Local Council of Edo State has blacklisted a number of companies that collect revenues for the council, citing breach of contractual terms.
According to a copy of the resolutions addressed to the council chairman and signed by the Clerk of the House, F. A. Imafidon, the legislators also issued a warrant of arrest for some of the revenue agents whom they said impugned summons to clarify their alleged flouting of internally generated revenue (IGR) remittance agreements.
“That the contractors in charge of RCC and JOJO Rock as well as miscellaneous revenue contractors be blacklisted for defrauding and failing to remit to the council their revenue collections and that council staff should take over their job in the interim.”
