
Sen. Eteng Williams, representing, Cross River Central District in the National Assembly, has installed street lights and borehole facilities in 27 communities in the district.
Williams told newsmen in Calabar on Wednesday that the gesture was a demonstration of his commitment to improving the wellbeing of the people.
The senator said that the projects were aimed at enhancing security and promoting economic development within the communities.

“We have provided solar-powered water facilities in nine communities, we have also installed street lights in 18 communities within the district.
“This effort is aimed at providing a foundation for sustainable development and economic growth in these communities,” he said.
He said that the projects were spread across the six local government areas in the senatorial district.
Williams said that borehole projects were implemented in Bendeghe-Ekiem, Ediba, Olulumo, Ababene, Ijom, Assiga, Aduma, Mkpani, Afaben, Mkpani and Boje communities.

He further said that street lights were installed in Ekori, Ugep, Mkpani, Inyima, Assiga, Nko, Obubra Urban, Oderegha/Ovukwa, Ofumbungha/Yala, and Isobo Otaka.
Others communities that got street light are: Isobo Biko-Biko, Wula Ekumpuo, Okwabang, Agba Osokom and Katchuan Irruan, Nsofang, Ajassor and Adadama.
The senator said that the solar-powered water facilities would provide clean and safe water for residents of the communities while the street lights would boost social activities and keep the towns lively.
“This is in line with my promises, I shall continue to collaborate with relevant federal agencies to attract more projects to our people,” he said.
