
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, yesterday hosted the highly revered Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Dein Keagborekuzi Benjamin Gbenoba I.
The king was on a courtesy call to the Defence Headquarters. The CDS, while receiving the monarch, described traditional rulers as vanguards for national stability.
General Musa appreciated the monarch for finding time to visit the Defence Headquarters.
He further stated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) will continue to partner with traditional institutions to achieve its constitutional mandate.
He assured the First Class Chief of the military’s readiness to protect the nation’s territorial integrity on all fronts and to ensure peace and stability in Nigeria.
Speaking further, the CDS maintained that the military was willing to address all forms of insecurity in the country.
In his remarks, the Dein of Agbor lauded the AFN for their dedication and great services to the nation and beyond. He commended the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces while thanking the CDS for accepting the apology tendered by the people of Okouma over the killing of military personnel in an unfortunate attack that occurred in March 2024.
He described the AFN as the pinnacle of the nation, while thanking the military for protecting the country and ensuring peace, economic growth, and stability.
