Delta govt sacks SSA on morals over fraud allegation
The Delta State Government has suspended the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Morals and Diaspora, Favour Obakoro, a.k.a Vida Modelo.
This was after she was accused of using her position as a government official to fraudulently obtain money from different persons.
An activist, Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, had called the attention of the state government to the allegation tabled by people who claimed to be Obakoro’s victims.
The victims claimed that she promised them that her company offered a reliable investment opportunity, assuring them that they would receive a refund if their investment failed.
When she failed to fulfil her promise, Obakoro allegedly threatened her victims who requested a refund.
This prompted the state government to suspend her with immediate effect.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Kingsley Eze Emu, her suspension is to enable security agencies to carry out a proper investigation on the matter.
