The Defence Headquarters has dismissed reports of the alleged arrest of notorious bandit leader Bello Turji by troops of Operation Fasan Yanma, stating that the claims are false.

Recall that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the weekend disclosed that notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji, has declared that he is ready to surrender.

Following this, social media has been awash with reports, alleging that the leader of the terrorist gang, Bello Turji, has been arrested in Zamfara State.

Reacting to the insinuations, which have since gone viral, spokesman of Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General Edward Buba, said: “All news regarding the arrest of Bello Turji by troops should be treated as fake news, please.”
